Most intricate Steampunk Keyboard a beauty for female punks!
Gizmo Watch —
... the keyboard flaunts violet LEDs on the frame. Aptly made for females, on a female client’s order – the keyboard has a typing plane tilted forward for comfortable typing, and also comes with a built-in touchpad mouse housed in the center. For us geeks there isn’t anything that goes better than a full-size Steampunk keyboard, and more so because this intricately made board is the best that Datamancer has ever made.

Datamancer Ergo Steampunk ergonomic keyboard
SlashGear —
... Take one rare IBM Model M-15 split ergonomic keyboard, add a flourish of Steampunk mods, and you end up with this, the Datamancer Ergo. A custom commission, the Ergo combines the M-15’s inverted slant, a velvet wrist-rest and an integrated buttonless trackpad, together with violet LEDs and an etched acanthus-leaf pattern. ...

Steampunk Ergonomics: Datamancer Gets RSI-Friendly
The UberReview —
You pretty much have to love all of the crazy creations that Datamancer comes up with, but this is the first one that looks comfortable enough to use for extended periods of time. There is plenty of brass, just enough wood and of course the classic typewriter keys, this is without a doubt the best steampunk keyboard I have seen in a long, long time.

... IBM Model M-15 Ergo Keyboard no more, Datamancer has given it a Steampunk makeover. This masterpiece includes "a built-in buttonless touchpad mouse positioned in the center." Click here for first picture in gallery.
The most interesting thing about the keyboard is that the typing plane is in fact tipped forward rather than back. It might look abnormal to many of us, but it really makes for a very comfortable typing position.

The Ergonomic Steampunk Keyboard
Boing Boing Gadgets —
Datamancer — steampunk modder and long time Jake von Slatt stoogeling extrordinaire — has released his latest keyboard mod. It began its life as a rare IBM Model M-15 split ergonomic keyboard, before it was fitted with the usual steampiunk flourishes of burnished brass, acanthus-leaf etchings, violet LEDs and typewriter keys, with a lovely little trackpad in the center and a soft burgundy wrist pad. I quite like it, although I'm struggling to conceptually link Victorian technology with ergonomic design.

Steampunk and retro futurist fabricator Datamancer has come up with yet another impressive creation. This time it’s a keyboard based on the ergonomic IBM Model M-15.
This keyboard was commissioned by a female client and has some elegant, feminine design features such as violet LEDs, an acanthus-leaf pattern etched into the brass, and a soft burgundy wrist pad that is removable for cleaning.
It also has a built-in “buttonless” touchpad mouse in the center (tap anywhere to left-click and drag, tap in the top-right corner to right-click).

Ergonomic Split Keyboard Turned Steampunk
GEARFUSE —
[image] Ergonomic split keyboards have always been hideous looking. Who wants two halves of a keyboard, anyway? Stenographers, that’s who. So, Datamancer turned a rare IBM M-15 Ergo Keyboard into a steampunk keyboard for steampunk stenographers who’ve been looking for a matching keyboard to go with their headsets ...
Datamancer Ergo keyboard takes steampunk in an oddly comfortable direction

Gadzooks! A steampunk keyboard with modern sensibility? That's a whole fistful of Splenda in my Darjeeling tea.
Dubbed as the Ergo, a mysterious fellow known as Datamancer cobbled this clacking wonder together from an old IBM M-15 ergonomic split keyboard. The project took shape thanks to a female client who propositioned Datamancer for the device, and he gave it "some elegant, feminine design features" including violet LED lights, a "acanthus-leaf pattern etched into the brass" and a removable burgundy-colored wrist support. Toss in typewriter-style keys and you've got yourself a ...
Datamancer Ergo Steampunk Keyboard Makes Writing Victorian Fanfics Slightly Less Uncomfortable [Steampunk Keyboard]
Gizmodo —
The original Datamancer Steampunk keyboard was quite steampunky in its presentation, and VERY steampunky in its price ($1000 to $1500). In the second round, Datamancer decided to do away with the straight edges and make the keyboard both brassy and rounded, two changes that would make any piece of hardware more...you know. It's made from an IBM Model M-15 split keyboard and is a one-off commissioned by a female client, so unless you call him up and promise him about 1000-1500 real (not steampunk) dollars, I wouldn't count on getting one this Xmas. It's a shame about the crappy photography, but Datamancer's impressive keyboard mod--turning an IBM Model M Ergo keyboard, above, into what you see below--brings ergonomic comfort to steampunk typists. Loving the velvet wrist-rest!
