Virtual pinball machine crams 17 games in one cabinet
DVICE Atom Feed — ... machine seems impractical to me. I mean, once you get used to it, it's the same game over and over again. Where's the variety? The Multipin Digital Pinball Machine offers 17 tables in one attractive cabinet. That's because it's all virtual, with the table actually housing a 32-inch LCD monitor instead of the normal workings of a pinball machine. It still has a cool mechanical plunger and clicky flipper buttons, however, so it's the next best thing to a real cabinet. Hammacher Schlemmer via Technabob

Virtual pinball machine looks cool, may be missing flippers
CrunchGear — ... The Multispin Digital Pinball machine uses a 32 inch LCD monitor for that play field, and a smaller monitor mounted on the back glass to replicate the scoring section of those classic games. There is just one thing that makes me nervous, and that’s the lack of flipper buttons on the pictures of the machine. Hammacher Schlemmers website says that it does have flipper buttons and a ball launcher just like the real thing, but I can’t seem to find it. ...

High-Def Digital Pinball Machine Doesn't Really "Get" Pinball [Pinball]
Gizmodo — ... Not everything's better digitized, you know? People like pinball because it's nostalgic and flawed, not because it's such a great game. Sure, this digital version lets you "bump and tilt," and for $6,000 I'm sure the rendering of the flippers is excellent—but it's got no soul. But since pinball was already pretty much dead by the time I was born, maybe I'm not the best authority on the subject. It's available from HS now. [Hammacher Schlemmer via ...
