It would be even cooler if, instead of being a third-party accessory, Apple actually released a modular iPhone, one that could admit different accessories like these but without the added bulk of building them around the original design.

These concept iPhones do set one thinking on what the possibilities are for the future of the Apple iPhone, although in the end it’s what Apple believe the iPhoner wants and of course what will ultimately sell.

Will Apple ever offer this as an option? You never know, large companies are always interested in constructive feedback and are trying to design products that the marketplace wants so as to capture a larger share of the market.
If Apple were not to offer this physical mini keyboard, it may be something a third party vendor may look at creating as an iPhone addon. For now however, it remains a cool concept gadget.

... with a keyboard, removing it when you don’t desire the extra bulk. Following this line of thought, it wouldn’t be hard for Apple (or a third-party accessory maker) to produce a series of these modular additions, possibly including a gaming pad, a secondary touchpad, a better camera, or any number of other things.
