Flash-memory purveyor Kingston now sells a thumb drive with a capacity 256 gigabytes: the DataTraveler 300. Yep, 256GB, all in single plastic wafer less than 3 inches long. According to the product page, that's the equivalent of 10 Blu-ray Discs, 54 DVDs or 365 CDs. It truly is a new era.

The latest member of Kingston’s Data Traveler USB drives is the Data Traveler 300, a flash disk with a gigantic 256 GB data capacity. 256 GB. That’s more than 50 DVDs. More than 40,000 songs. In your pocket. Mind blown.
As always, cutting edge tech ain’t cheap: the “Buy” links in Kingston’s website all come up empty, so I’m assuming the Data Traveler 300 is not available yet, but Hardware Sphere and Gizmodo both claim that the flash disk will sell for about $900 (USD). For comparison’s sake, you ...
