InVision Case Makes the iPhone Blind-Friendly, Defiantly Screenless [Accessibility]
Gizmodo —
... Feel-good sentiment aside, a project like this would face some huge hurdles. Not only would the screenreading and interface apps likely require a good deal of research and development, but their deep integration into the iPhone's OS would almost certainly violate the App Store rules, which can and one day will be construed to mean that Apple despises blind people. Right? RIGHT? Controversy! [Yanko] ...

... of modified bas-relief buttons engraved on it and it fits perfectly atop the iPhone gelling well with its apps, allowing the user to proficiently use the multi-touch scrolling, text to speech and the tactile feedback, which the iPhone lacked for the visually impaired until. The user has to compromise on none of the features of the iPhone, all that’s required to make the casing compatible is to install a special application and organize the case to the iPhone’s feasts.

The iPhone case that’s designed for the blind and visually impaired
CrunchGear —
... (Random fact: I’m legally blind in New York without my glasses.) It’d work with an iPhone App to make it so that people can feel what they’re typing, be it the SMS icon or actual, individual letters.
You don’t lose multi-touch functionality, either.
Now, the caveats. This has only been designed; you can’t yet walk into a store or order one online yet. Perhaps one of you have a factory in China you’d like to donate?

... not designed for touch typing), which makes this case by designer Bruno Fosi all the more impressive. The Silicon Touch covers the phone's screen and features a selection of bas-relief buttons that correspond to menu items in a custom app, allowing those with diminished sight access to all the phone's functions, including multi-touch and finger flick scrolling. Right now it's just a concept, but we're hoping to see this one become a reality sooner rather than later. [Via Yanko Design] ...

Finally! Tactile feedback for the iPhone … sort of!
Technology - Channel Feed —
... Takashi’s Yanko Design features something really interesting for the iPhone - a case that gives you tactile feedback. The casing envelops the entire iPhone like the usual jelly cases we see in the market with the difference being — the keys are marked in braille. Not exactly the tactile feedback you were expecting, but it is a good idea. The jelly comes in many “designs” depending on what GUI you’re currently on. The jelly case works in tandem with text to speech options and special applications for the iPhone. ...

... to use the iPhone. The case is engraved with modified bas-relief buttons that correspond to a modified homescreen and is should work in tandem with a specially prepared application to add accessibility functions like text to speech and moon type tactile feedback. As a result, none of the iPhone’s functions are compromised, multi-touch and finger flicking included.
In a word - brilliant! Hopefully, someone will pick the idea and actually do something about it.

Wrist Phone For Troubled Times
Yanko Design —
... Pre-Paid Phone could be that life-saving device, which could get you out of a sticky situation.
Simple, non pretentious, the phone is a very basic device that is devoid of the fancy stuff. This makes its cheap to manufacture and market. Another point in its favor is the portability factor; you can simply wrap it around your wrist. Leaving the connectivity issues aside, the phone has the potential to make its mark. But that doesn’t mean you don’t take your regular cellphone along!
