Toshiba Releases Their Obligatory Netbook [Toshiba]
Gizmodo —
... definitely style-aggressive, packs Ubuntu and promises a (6 cell?) battery life of 4 hours, but it's pretty much the exact $500ish system we've seen cloned and crapped out by every laptop manufacturer in the known universe. Fashionably Late, Toshiba Unveils First Netbook
Wired: Gadget Lab —
... drive space and 1GB of RAM.

Toshiba is one of several manufacturers jumping on the "smaller and more powerful" bandwagon. Just recently Dell, Fujitsu Siemens and Samsung unveiled their first netbooks as well.
Pricing details are to be announced. The netbook goes on sale in the UK in October.
