Twitter just turned on “Lists” this week. The features is planned for Tweetie 2.2. Loren Brichter, developer and owner of Atebits, hopes to have Tweetie 2.1 in final beta testing later this week. App Store approval process withstanding, you could see Tweetie 2.1 very shortly.

As Twitter rolls these out, when someone you follow retweets something, you no longer see them and their retweet, but the original tweeter, (even if you don’t follow them), along with a note saying which of the people you followed retweeted it. ... I’m actually playing with the free app, TweetDeck, right this moment, but I got excited by the TechCrunch article covering Tweetie 2.1 update. The major new features seem to be geo-location support and some very cool integration for the new Retweet system. Instead of the letters “RT” being displayed as part of a retweet you’ll now see a pink arrow beside a post to indicate that it’s a reposted tweet.
