Droid Tethering Coming Early 2010
Gadget Venue —
... should be ample in most cases although just keep an eye on the records because if you go over then the charges are quite high on the Verizon network. There is always the alternative available of rooting your Droid (when that becomes available) and then installing a wireless tether (when that is compatible with Android 2.0) which lets you bypass all this, but if you want to stay on the good side of Verizon it’ll cost you more than likely the $15/month for the service.

Verizon Promises Droid Tethering - 'Sometime in 2010...'
DSLreports - front page —
... Verizon will open their stores early on Friday for the launch of the Motorola Droid, and so far, despite our fears, it looks like Verizon's done a nice job of staying out of the way of progress and not crippling the device in any way. One thing that is missing is tethering (the ability to use the phone as a modem), but according to Verizon, that should be coming in 2010. AT&T; iPhone users are still waiting for the company to approve iPhone tethering, and AT&T; has refused to give a solid date for when it will be implemented. Of course as with all Verizon 3G data plans, usage is ...
Verizon confirm tethering for Motorola DROID in early 2010
SlashGear —
... Broadband Access Connect plan arrive on the Android slider, likely priced at the usual $15 per month on top of your regular data contract.
That gets you a 5GB per month limit, the same as Verizon’s standalone data card and USB modem plans. Not perfect, no, but considering AT&T customers are still waiting semi-patiently for iPhone tethering it’s another plus in the DROID’s favor. More on the Verizon DROID here.

Droid Tethering Plan Coming — Will You Use It?

Verizon really does want to differentiate itself from the pack, doesn’t it? Aside from getting sued for allegedly comparing its 3G network coverage and allowing free GPS navigation on a smartphone, it’s treading where Sprint has decided not to walk — smartphone tethering. The Motorola Droid will indeed support Internet tethering, Sascha Segan at Gearlog reports, allowing customers to use their Android handset as a 3G modem. Sascha expects this to be a $15 monthly fee, which sounds about right based ...
