Less than a week on the market, and Verizon have already dropped the price of the Samsung Omnia. The touchscreen smartphone now retails from $199.99 with a new two-year contract, thanks to a $70 mail-in rebate. The move is likely a response to Apple’s pricing for the iPhone 3G.

Verizon Samsung Omnia price cut to $199.99
SlashGear —
Less than a week on the market, and Verizon have already dropped the price of the Samsung Omnia. The touchscreen smartphone now retails from $199.99 with a new two-year contract, thanks to a $70 mail-in rebate. The move is likely a response to Apple’s pricing for the iPhone 3G.
Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the Omnia has a full metal casing, 5-megapixel camera and EVDO Rev.A connectivity. In an unusual move for Verizon, the handset’s WiFi has been left intact. The Omni has 8GB of internal memory, together with a microSD slot supporting cards up to 16GB in size.

Despite the fact that Verizon had only announced the Samsung Onmia availability just about a week ago, we are already seeing a nice price cut. The Omnia was originally priced at $249.99, but has been lowered by $50. With that price cut, the new price is now at $199.99. Of course, it is important to point out that price does come after a $70 mail-in-rebate and along with the standard two-year agreement. While it is hard to argue against a price cut, I am thinking that Verizon would have seen a more positive reaction if they somehow got rid ...
Samsung Omnia Available for $99 from Verizon Wireless
Mobilewhack.com —
[image] Verizon Wireless has decided to lower the price for the Samsung Omnia. Is this move a response to the economic crisis or is Verizon getting ready to offer some hot phones to its subscribers? The Omnia will cost you just $99 if you buy it online. There’s a $70 discount available only online so far. You’ll have to choose a 2-year contract to get that special prices. If you’re more of a 1-year contract person then the Omnia will cost you $169. There’s also the possibility of purchasing the phone without a contract, at $559. via Verizon Tags: Mobile News , OMNIA , online , Samsung , Samsung , Verizon , ...
