SlashGear — Prepare for the second-coming of the Samsung femtocell, last seen on the SlashGear test bench as the Sprint AIRAVE and now, revealed courtesy of the FCC, coming in a new Darth-style suit to Verizon Wireless.  Despite cosmetic changes, the principle is the same: plug the femtocell into your broadband connection and it creates its own little bubble of CDMA coverage, within which your Verizon cellphone is king. Celularis — Hace algunas semanas les contamos de que se trataba las Femtocell o Femtoceldas, que “funcionan al enchufarse a nuestra conexión de banda ancha -ya sea ADSL o Cable- para brindar cobertura 3G a todos los celulares de una casa o lugar de trabajo”. Ahora gracias a la FCC nos enteramos que Verizon está por lanzar la Samsung Ubicell, que ya estaba en el mercado estadounidense de la mano de Sprint. Todavía no se sabe el precio ni la fecha cuando estará disponible pero los clientes de Verizon estarán contentos. Para funcionar, tiene un sistema de GPS que sólo la activa si está en Estados Unidos.
