This is a sneaky trick. Certainly hackers are already working on ways to circumvent this bi-hourly shutdown nonsense. But look on the bright side: you get to use Windows 7 free for 10 months, unfettered. Not as good as the 13 months we thought, but better than nothing. The next bomb to drop: pricing for a Windows 7.

We can confirm to you that the wait is finally over. Microsoft have released their Windows 7 RC to the public and its available to download right now in a variety of languages.

Overall, I am fairly impressed with how the netbook is handling Windows 7, especially since RC 1 is the Ultimate version with Windows Media Center. If Windows 7 runs this well on a netbook, I can only imagine what it could do on full-sized laptops and desktops. I think I’ll definitely be looking to purchase the full version of Windows 7 when it is released.

The bi-hourly shutdown torture is now underway and will be done till the beta expires on Aug 1, 2009.
