Well, I figured I'd see how far I can get on this thing and have been wanting to take a stab at it for awhile but didn't feel like trashing a perfectly good slot loader drive to see if I could. Then I remembered I had this little gem just sitting around doing nothing at all, figured I may as ...

But luckily, we have the power of internet video to get our vicarious optical media insertion kicks. [Xbox-Scene via ...
DIY Hitachi Drive In Xbox 360 Project
Ubergizmo —
For those whose fingers are itching to get started on a new DIY project, here's one that ought to keep you busy for a while - using a Hitachi CRN-8242B drive that finally gets housed in an Xbox 360 - definitely not an easy task by any means, so you'll need to have some semblance of DIY knowledge before you get started. The end result is satisfying to say the least, but bear in mind you'll need to scour eBay or other online sites to get an old iMac if you don't have one sitting in your attic before you get started.
