Nintendo DSi gets it’s own flash cart, lets you run Twitter
CrunchGear —
If you’re anything like me, you’ll understand that rather than being a bane to Nintendo and Sony they breathe new life into portable consoles. The DSi has its own hacking cart, the Acekard 2i that lets you run homebrew and backups and, when it’s available here, will even let you Tweet from your DSi.
While I don’t want to condone piracy, these things have breathed new life into my DS and actually made me think about buying games again.
The cart supports MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards as well as Action Replay cheats for those times when you ...
Acekard 2i Becomes First to Crack Nintendo DSi For Homebrew [Homebrew]
Gizmodo —
Befitting of the homebrew crackin' reputation recently, Nintendo figured they'd take the opportunity of the DSi's fresh hardware to kibosh homemade code via flash carts once and for all. As you can see here, that plan didn't last long. Acekard, makers of many fine flashcarts for the original DS and DS Lite, have done in a month or so what many thought might take much longer, or even be impossible: load homebrew code on the DSi. And on top of that, Acekard is claiming support for all of the DSi's new hardware goodness like the camera and SD card, which is surely wetting ...
DSi Gers Acekard 2i Flash Cart
Ubergizmo —
It was only a matter of time before a flash cart was introduced for the Nintendo DSi (which isn't even out Stateside yet, mind you). The Acekard 2i will enable homebrew programs to run, and will even support Twitter on your DSi! The Acekard 2i will support both microSD and microSDHC cards, in addition to Action Replay cheats whenever you find your gaming skills coming up short to defeat the in-game boss. Of course, just like some other flash carts on the DS Lite, Acekard 2i is also able to support MP3 playback, turning your DSi into a portable media player of sorts. No idea on how much the Acekard 2i ...
Nintendo DSi flash cart will let you run Twitter
Newlaunches.com —
Nintendo DSi is a tad different than the rest of its predecessors for the simple reason that it has its own hacking cart, the Acekard 2i. The cart lets you run "homebrew and backups" and will also let you run Twitter from the console. It supports MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards, plays MP3 and also lends a hand to Action Replay cheats. Source ...
Flashcart makers have already figured out how to run homebrew on the DSi
Boing Boing Gadgets —
The Nintendo DSi has been out for about a month, and flashcart manufacterer Acekart have already gotten around Nintendo's security measures against running homemade code... and, of course, pirated ROMs. Better yet, all of the DSi's new hardware like the camera and SD card are also accessible.
This is a good thing. I can imagine the homebrew community doing some neat things with the camera, but honestly, I use DS flashcarts mostly so I don't need to worry about carrying around a large number of easily lost, stamp-sized DS games, instead only having to worry about ...
