BakerTweets Are the Most Delicious Tweets Ever [Yummy Twitter]
Gizmodo —
I want one of these installed at Momofuku Milk Bar, Doughnut Plant and City Bakery: BakerTweet tells all of the baker's followers on Twitter what hot deliciousness just came out of the oven. BakerTweet is made up of a bunch of Arduino hardware and a Wi-Fi adapter encased in a "bakery-proof" box with a simple knob to twist to select what just came out of the oven. BakerTweet then sends the blurb out over Twitter, where anyone can see. Albion Cafe in London is testing BakerTweet, and their Twitter feed makes me hungry: "Bouncy, beautiful cup cakes, nice and iced, plump, and ready for your delight. come ...

Via adafruit comes this awesome use of embedded tweeting, a bakery device that can alert hungry stomachs to what (please don't make me say it) tweets are coming out of the oven. Sweet.
The BakerTweet prototype is made up of an Arduino Duemilanove, Arduino Ethernet Shield, Ladyada Proto Shield, a Linksys wifi adapter, and a whole bunch of little parts that make up the rest of what you see. We went through a couple of weeks of prototyping until the we settled on all the final components and wiring. ...

BakerTweet from BakerTweet on Vimeo. This is easily the greatest invention in the history of mankind. (Or maybe I just shouldn't blog hungry.) Anway, the BakerTweet is a Wi-Fi connected box designed to be mounted on the wall of your local bakery. The baker pre-configures it with every item on the menu. Later, when something is about to come out of the oven, the baker chooses that item from the list and presses a button. Baker Tweet Gives You the Scoop on Fresh Bread
Wired: Gadget Lab —
I so wanted to be cynical about the Baker Tweet. I wanted to put it in the box with the applications which tell you about the weather. You know, the same weather you could see by looking out the window. But the more I read, the smarter the Baker Tweet looks.
The principle is simple. The baker has a box on the bakery wall and, when a fresh batch of something comes out of the oven, he turns a dial and presses a button. A tweet is then sent out via the Twitter and anyone following can come running to grab some hot cross buns.
There is currently just one Baker Tweet ...
