Google have released Google Earth for the iPhone / iPod Touch. It looks fantastic and makes use of the multitouch and accelerometer features of the iPhone.
When viewing the application you just tilt your phone and the view is adjusted accordingly. Also you can “pinch” the screen to zoom in to a location. Also the google Earth software uses the my location feature so that when you load up the application it jumps right to where you are on the map. Google has announced the availability of Google Earth for iPhone/iPod Touch users. The software is more or less like the desktop version and benefits a lot from its intuitive multi touch. The globe rotates with just a finger flick, pinch or double tap to zoom in and two fingers to zoom out. Anytime a major software release happens, certain features will be left on the cutting room floor in order to hit the target release date. Android 2.0 was no exception to this rule and we know of two features that were left off.
