“I am rich”… ¿or idiot?
Movilae —

Tech Ticker —
Only eight people managed to buy the ‘I am Rich’ app from the App store before Apple mysteriously pulled it out. But this was not done until a buyer shot a video walkthrough of the infamous application which does nothing but shows a glowing jewel. Why was it allowed to be sold in the first place if there was no utility?

High School Student Bought $1,000 iPhone App, Produces Video Tour
Wired: Gadget Lab —
Last week we asked you Gadget Lab readers to e-mail us with contact information if you knew of anyone who bought the useless $1,000 "I Am Rich" iPhone app. Unfortunately no one was able to help us out, but The Unofficial Apple Weblog came across a video by 17-year-old Neil Pomerleau, who bought I Am Rich and gave a "guided tour" for the incredible app, which displays a red ruby and reassures you you're rich.
Immediately some questions spring to mind: 1. Where did a 17-year-old get $1,000 to blow on a useless application? 2. Did he seriously buy this app just to make this parody ...
The I am Rich video tour for the astute
Mobile Whack —
Remember that application that Apple fortunately pulled from the AppStore before anymore dimwits decided to try it for just $999.99? One of the eight people who bought the application decided to put up a guided tour of the highly expensive application for us to see if they got their money’s worth. From the video, it sure looks like he got enough sarcasm to last a lifetime and a little boost of self-confidence every now and then, even if it cost him a thousand dollars. The guy says he is readying a cracked version, so be sure to try it whenever it’s available sans the unbelievable price tag, of course! Tags: Apple , ...

IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
What does a $1,000 iPhone application look like?
While we’re not in the business of snatching up iPhone applications with four-figure (well, it’s $999, so the app is at the high-end of three-figures) price-tags, a YouTube user was kind enough to post a video demonstration of the now-infamous “I Am Rich” iPhone application that is famous for doing little more than flaunting your obscene riches.
The application was clearly a joke that failed to actually get any laughs. But, there’s nothing like a little video walk-through to help you get in on the action. Find out what $999 would have bought you, ...
