New, Post-Seinfeld Ads Hit Apple Ads Head-On

Microsoft dumped Jerry Seinfeld as pitchman, pulling an ad series before it even got a chance to mention the "V" word (Vista). Now, it's pushed to TVs new ads that directly attack the "Hi, I'm a Mac. And I'm a PC" ads that Apple has used to such devastating effect. Microsoft's message: Hey, Windows users are people, too.

Microsoft launched the next phase of an ongoing, long-term Windows marketing effort, with the tagline “Life Without Walls”. A key part of the brand initiative are new television and online commercials called “I’m a PC”. The spots feature real people from the diverse community of one billion Windows users around the world – from celebrities to fish mongers – all affirming the sense of creativity and connection that Windows brings to their lives by stating: “I’m a PC”.

Now that Seinfeld is out and the new "I'm a PC" commercials are in, most of you feel the same way that I do about them — they are totally copying Apple's "Get a Mac" ads! The first installment with Seinfeld was at least somewhat original, but waay too long to be used as commercials. These ones? Catchy, but lack originality. Microsoft, you had my attention with Seinfeld, and lost me at "I'm a PC."
