iPhone 3G S triggers surge in YouTube uploads
Electronista | The Macintosh News Network —
[image] Mobile YouTube uploads have shot up dramatically with the release of the iPhone 3G S, Google claims. Whereas uploads have grown approximately 1,700 percent in past the six months, Google notes that figures rose 400 percent daily on June 19th, when the 3G S was launched in eight countries. The 3G S is the only iPhone capable of video recording, and is able to upload directly to YouTube. Apple and Google maintain a close corporate partnership . Files can be delivered using either a Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Google acknowledges that many of the clips so far are simply test videos, demonstrating the technology rather than making any practical application. ...
Does the S in iPhone 3GS Stand for Submarine? [IPhone]
Gizmodo —
Sure, this video must be fake, but the sound is so clear I find hard to believe that it is inside a case. Then again, I find even harder to believe that any iPhone can survive this. There's only one way to know the truth: Get your iPhone 3GS to the pool today, submerge for a few seconds, and tell us. Come on. You know you want to do it. Send me your test video to jesus@gizmodo.com.

An iPhone user proves it’s not the “Jesus phone” after all by dropping it in the pool!
Hat Tip to Crave for this YouTube link of a user videotaping poolside using his iPhone 3Gs. He suddenly drops it and into the drink it goes. But here’s the amazing part. It continues to video tape while in the water and according to C’Net, two days after dropping it into the pool, IT STILL WORKS.
The iPhone comes with a 3 MP video/still camera with autofocus. Now, obviously, since it sunk like the proverbial rock, rather thank walk on water, it simply can’t be called the “Jesus phone” anymore. But ...
iPhone 3GS Is Waterproof, Too?
iPhone Alley - News —
[image] iPhone 3GS can record video reasonably well in most circumstances, but as it turns out, it works pretty well under water, too. YouTube user KhenaKara was trying out his new iPhone 3GS's video recording capabilities when it slipped out of his hands and down to it's watery grave, or so he thought at the time. To his great surprise, not only was it still functioning, but days later it still remains fully functional! Best of all, he posted the video to YouTube (after the break). [via CNet ...

iPhone 3GS dropped into pool, does not falter
iPhonefreak —
iPhone 3GS dropped into pool, does not falter It was bound to happen sooner or later. The owner of the iPhone in question was daring enough to hold his new iPhone 3GS over the edge of the pool and use its video record feature, I’m sure you can guess what happened next. Monday Fun Video: Aqua iPhone or Human Farce?
The iPhone Blog —
Either an iPhone 3GS was dropped in a pool and kept on recording, or as Richard Lai demonstrates in this second video [NSFW-L] someone was smart enough to cover it in plastic wrap first.
You can decide for yourselves, but we’re not letting our iPhone’s anywhere near water without full deep sea gear and a mini sub…
