iPhone Remote-Control Car Mod has Tilt-to-Turn Goodness [Iphone R/C]
Gizmodo — It took ten months since we showed you the N95 R/C car hack, but now someone's done the inevitable thing and made and iPhone version. The DIY hack is pretty inventive: the iPhone's wi-fi link is used to send data to a PC, where some software sends data over a serial link to an Arduino board which then adjusts the original R/C box for the toy car. Convoluted, but neat: the tilt-to-turn feature being priceless. There're some pretty good guidelines at the project page if you're in the mood for some DIY gadget fun, and I'd just like to point out that the iPhone has 3D accelerometers, which ...

iPhone Controlled RC Car
Ubergizmo — iPhone controlled R/C car from Josef Pruša on Vimeo. The iPhone's not only good for taking calls, watching video and adding your desirability factor by two notches, it also works great as a remote control when hacked properly. It does not rely on standard virtual control buttons to get the RC car moving, but instead uses multi-touch and tilt sensing features of the iPhone to get the job done. This data will be sent to the computer via Wi-Fi from the iPhone, which will then relay the signal to the original RC remote that controls the vehicle. Well, if you have a spare iPhone lying around, why ...

iPhone Controlled RC Car using an Arduino
Hacked Gadgets - DIY Tech Blog —   Here is another cool iPhone projects that controls a RC car. Is the iPhone the new Swiss Army knife of portable electronics? "Controlling is very easy with the iPhone 3G. It has five buttons, four of them you can use for traditional „driving“ and when you press the last one, it unlocks the accelerometer control in the same way as in many driving games available on AppStore. Realization of this project did not take a long time, only one afternoon. Technically it is realized in a hell-bent way, but obviously it’s functional. Schematically: iPhone (OSCemote) → WiFi → PC → ...
