Sharp Mebius NJ70A Has Twice as Many Screens as a Typical Netbook [NetBooks]
Gizmodo —
On paper, the Mebius NJ70A looks just about the same as every other Atom netbook, except for one glaring, 854x480, 4-inch, multitouch difference. The result of a stroke a genius (or possibly just a regular stroke), Sharp's designers have completely replaced this netbooks trackpad with a glass multitouch screen. Akihabara News gave it a try below, but even their photos, impressions and video leave some questions. ...
Video: Sharp's Mebius LCD trackpad
Engadget —
Akihabara News was on-site for the unveiling of Sharp's Mebius netbook with combo 854 x 480 pixel LCD and trackpad. Sure, the icons and apps demonstrated are all a bit lame but the idea of repurposing all that space for a dual-purpose trackpad and secondary display / widget panel is killer. This friends, ...

Sharp's Mebius Netbook with Touch-Screen Trackpad
Wired: Gadget Lab —
Appalling graphics aside, the combo touchpad/mini LCD screen combo on Sharp’s new Mebius NJ70A looks fantastic. The tiny extra screen brings a real differentiator to this otherwise standard netbook (10” screen, 1.6GHz Atom chip, 1GB RAM, you know the rest), replacing the usually terrible trackpad found on other netbooks with ...
Sharp unveils PC-NJ70A Mebius netbook
Tech Ticker —
Our hopes weren’t really high when Sharp revealed its intention to launch a netbook. But here they are, and with their PC-NJ70A Mebius netbook, I think they are going to start a new trend. It does have the usual netbook-ish specs like 10.1-inch screen, N270 1.6GHz processor, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM and all but the cool thing here is that it integrates a 4-inch 854X480 resolution LCD that doubles up as a mouse trackpad and a secondary screen. We have seen multi-touch trackpads but a screen mouse is definitely the first in the netbook category. Asus, Acer and company, when you coming with such thing eh?
Anyways, this Mebius ...

Sharp Mebius NJ70 netbook replaces touchpad with touchscreen
Boing Boing Gadgets —
While its guts are the same old netbook standard, Sharp's new Mebius NJ70A (named after an ancient Shinto calculus demon) puts a slick little 4-inch LCD touchscreen in place of the typically chintzy touchpad. Amusingly, the little touchscreen, which can accept both touch and pen input, has a resolution of 854 by 480 pixels—nearly the same as the screens of most netbooks.
If I sound dismissive, it's only because I'm sure the price will be prohibitive. Nonetheless, good on Sharp for doing something potentially useful to spruce up an otherwise drab netbook scene. ...

While designed in a standard 10.1-inch format, the system is said to be the first netbook in the world with an LCD trackpad .
