First hands-on with the Pixel Qi LCD/e-paper screen

Friend of the Crunch charbax sent us the first hands-on video of the Pixel Qi e-paper screen, a new time of LCD technology that uses standard LCD fabrication tools to create and LCD/e-paper/transflective screen displays full color in direct sunlight and takes very little power.
This is not to be confused with the Kindle’s e-ink technology. Think of it as a new form of LCD that has e-ink properties - readability, low-power cost, and barely any lag - in full color.

There's been some buzz this week around Pixel Qi's 3qi display technology , which integrates e-paper attributes with LCD to create a versatile and potentially very energy efficient screen. December can't come fast enough for those who want a piece of Pixel Qi dual-mode LCD action, where mass production will begin next month with hope of it being able to make the Christmas deadline. On another encouraging note, the company is also working on a HDTV that sips less than 10 watts of juice when operating, giving HDTVs the potential of seeing action in homes that do not have steady access to electrical power.
