Sony Ericsson's "Rachael" Android UI: Android Meets Zune HD, Looks Slicker Than iPhone [Android]
Gizmodo —
I like Android and all, but one thing the iPhone absolutely kicks every other smartphone's ass at is media playback—until now. This video of Sony Ericsson's "Rachael" Android UI shows its media capabilities, and it looks un-freaking-believable. Looks like Sony Ericsson borrowed heavily from the Zune HD playbook for this one, but we're not complaining—the Zune HD has the only media UI that's capable of competing with the iPhone's. Let's count the influences: First is the homescreen, which has a layout very similar to the Zune HD's QuickPlay menu. Instead of just giving you a boring ...

Sony Ericsson Rachael Android UI Revealed on Video
Mobile Whack —
After weâve seen the Rachael teaser yesterday, today we get a glimpse of its user interface. The Sony Ericsson phone is going to be released on Tuesday, November 3 but it looks like Sony Ericsson wants us to see more and more of its capabilities already. In this demo youâll see how Rachael deals with multimedia files. The video shows how the Android phone plays music and videos for you and you canât say that youâre not impressed with what Sony Ericsson has cooked up. If you own a Zune then the UI will seem familiar as some influences are pretty clear. But that doesn’t make the interface less interesting! In remains to see the real thing in ...
“Rachael” Makes the Rounds
Mobility Site —
Sony Ericsson has leaked a new video of a prototype Android UI they call “Rachael” which has “This is just a concept for internal use only, sit the hell down” warnings all over it. Once you accept that fact that you can’t buy a phone with this UI today, tomorrow, or possibly ever (or possibly in 4 days with the Xperia X3), the video is a very interesting picture of a direction User Interfaces may be going. ...
Sony Ericsson Rachael mediascape UI gets leaked video demo
SlashGear —
If our assumptions are correct, this coming week should see Sony Ericsson officially unveil their first Android smartphone, the handset variously known as the Sony Ericsson Rachael (or Rachel), XPERIA X3 and X10 and – most recently – the Sony Ericsson Infinity. We’ve already seen a video demo of what Sony Ericsson’s custom UI might look like (and darned pretty it is too) but now a second demo has emerged and gadzooks it has us interested.
Video demo after the cut
The video follows on from an earlier, official clip of the upcoming device’s hardware, ...

Video: Sony Ericsson Rachael UI looks impressive!
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) may have a winner with the Rachael, which is set to be announced within two days. We’ve seen the teaser clip and now it’s time to see how this baby actually works. Yap, we have the UI video and I can tell you one thing – it rocks! The first Sony Ericsson Android-powered device will come ...
Yet another Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 UI leak, this time with media player love
Boy Genius Report —
Back in July we fought back drool while watching a leaked video of the custom UI overlay Sony Ericsson has prepared for the soon to be official XPERIA X3. Today, we’re repeating the process all over again as yet another UI video has surfaced, this time dealing specifically with the media player. Looking wonderfully polished, well thought out and seemingly liberally borrowing styling cues from Microsoft’s Zune HD, the overall hotness cannot be denied. Yes, indeed, we cannot wait to get some hands on time with the XPERIA X3 so we can pit it against Motorola’s DROID. Hit the jump to check out the video.
Thanks to ...
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 (Rachael) Media UI gets demoed on video
PMP Today —
We’re pretty excited about the upcoming launch of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 Android largely thanks to the teaser video which surfaced last week. Its specs are equally impressive, and if its UI is as good as the one showcased in this video, then we’re totally sold on the XPERIA X3 (Rachael) phone.
To say that Sony Ericsson merely added an overlay is an understatement as you can hardly even tell that Android is still running on this baby. However, before you make any hasty conclusions about it, do note the warning at the beginning of ...

Sony Ericsson Rachael: the first multimedia Android mobile
Electricpig.co.uk - The UK's fastest-growing tech news site —
If rumours prove right, the Sony Ericsson Rachael Android smartphone is rapidly approaching launch, but there’s still time for a few leaks to sneak through, and this here video showing off the Rachael/Xperia X3’s multimedia juggling skills is the best of the bunch. Will the Sony Ericsson Rachael be the first true multimedia Android handset?
Traditionally, multimedia has been Android’s weak point. Even the HTC Hero struggles to playback movies smoothly, while our HTC Magic actually pulled the sound clips from a satnav app into the music library. But the Sony Ericsson ...
Sony Ericsson Rachael UI Video Released
Gadget Venue —
A video of the Sony Ericsson Rachael UI was uploaded to Youtube recently showing off the new mediascape menu system for organising music, video and images. It appears that Sony Ericsson are working on their own Android media interface as the current Android one is a tad boring in my opinion.
It is currently believed that Rachael is the new Sony Ericsson X10 that will probably be announced on the 3rd November in just a few days time. Hopefully when the phone gets officially announced we can get a full look at what SE have done with Android and how much of it has been customised.
The video over on Youtube indicates that the phone will ...
Sony Ericsson Rachel, su interfaz en vídeo
Movilae —
Stuff.tv - All blogs —
We reported to you last week about the Sony Ericsson teaser website that, thanks to some less than secret coding, seemed to be suggesting an announcement of the first Android handset from the company on 3 November. We've seen and admired the Rachael UI previously, and now there's been a video added to the teaser website that shows off a handset. Not just that, but there's also a new video that\s cropped up showing off the multimedia capabilities of the Rachael UI. It says it's conceptual, but even so, it's pretty impressive even if it's not quite what we'll see in the finished product. It's been banded around that the handset we'll ...
Android Ecosystem — This Week in Android
jkOnTheRun —
Welcome to our newest Monday feature — Android Ecosystem! The week kicks off today with the general availability of Motorola’s CLIQ. You should be able to walk into a T-Mobile retail store and leave with this Android handset in either Titanium or Winter White color. Pricing varies due to the new T-Mobile plans announced last month. For example: the CLIQ is either $199.99 upfront or spread out over $50 payments with the Even More plan. If you go with the Even More Plus deal, expect to pay $399 upfront or payments of $20 a month just for the hardware. I’m still wondering what all of that social BLUR networking will really do to the ...
Android Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 UI is Gorgeous!
pocketnow.com —
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3, which has since been re-named and re-badged to the XPERIA X10, has a stunning multimedia user interface that hides traces of Android operating system particularly well.
Gizmodo seems to think that the XPERIA X10 borrows a page or two from Microsoft's Zune HD's playbook.
The XPERIA X10 joins Sony Ericsson's XPERIA lineup, which began with the Windows Mobile XPERIA X1. The X2, which so far hasn't seen a US released, also a Windows Mobile handset, was shown off ...

Sony Ericsson announces its first Android phone Xperia X10
Tech Ticker —
Sony Ericsson’s Rachael has finally made its way out, by the name of Xperia X10. Sony Ericsson has made a very good effort in its first ever Android attempt that could give Motorola’s DROID a run for its money. Of course, it does not have a physical QWERTY keyboard or Android 2.0, the DROID/MILESTONE ...
