Asteroids wristwatch one-ups the Pong-playing original
Engadget —
John Maushammer enjoyed his 15 minutes in the limelight from the creation of the Pong wristwatch, but as any true superstar will tell you, a quarter of an hour just isn't enough. The DIY Asteroids Watch is a real step above the aforementioned predecessor, with an inbuilt tilt sensor so the wearer can control the action ...
New Asteroids Watch From The Creator Of The Ping-Pong Watch

By Andrew Liszewski
Not content with his original Ping-Pong watch design, John Maushammer is not only working on an updated design that includes buttons for changing the mode and a tilt sensor for controlling the paddle, but also the Asteroids version pictured above. Now there’s no word on whether or not the Asteroids version will actually be playable, but John apparently still doesn’t have plans to make the Ping-Pong watch playable since as he puts it; “I can’t think of anything more horrid than playing pong against a computer!” Trust me John, I’ll gladly pay Pong ...
Asteroids wristwatch
Boing Boing Gadgets —
In the Annals of Do Want, this Asteroids-playing wristwatch will have its own chapter, lovingly illuminated, with the esoteric secrets of vectorbeam technology encoded in the fibers of the pages themselves.
It's the latest from John Maushammer, who originally created the watch to runPong.
Usually, the computer plays automatically & it keeps time. But, it also has a tilt-sensor so you can aim the ship by moving your wrist around. It's not done yet, but it will have buttons for firing and engine-thrust. Maybe mind control will be next ;-)

2 Cool Watches to Look Out For
Gadget Venue —
The first watch today is a cool looking Electronic Paper Watch. This one is a concept watch that is designed to look good and be very slim.
The Electronic Paper Watch was designed by Julien Bergignant. It features a large screen which can display either an analogue or digital watch face and with it being ePaper, it is ultra thin too. Although it is concept still, it probably isn’t too far away from what could be made with today’s technology.
More details over at Walyou.
This next watch was made by John Maushammer. It is an asteroids watch that works just like the original arcade game from a few ...
Asteroids Watch by John Maushammer
Gizmodiva.com —
John Maushammer is famous for the Ping-Pong watch he created. However, it seems like he wants to take the watch a step further. He is currently putting effort into coming up includes buttons for changing the mode and a tilt sensor for controlling the paddle. Besides this, there will also be the Asteroids version. There is no doubt that the Asteroids version will be super fun, but it's not confirmed yet as to whether it will be playable or not. I hope it is. I'm eagerly waiting for the geeky Asteroids Watch, as I'm not a big fan of Ping Pong.
