Functioning X-men "Pyro" costume flamethrower appliance
MAKE Magazine —
OK, my awesome meter has kind of overloaded on this one. Everett Bradford's "Prometheus Device" is a hand-mounted appliance that shoots, like, real fire. It looks, you know, dangerous, and all, but it's so cool I don't really care. And he's done a great job documenting the build, although obviously no one should attempt this who doesn't know what they're doing. Amazing work, Everett. Thanks!

DIY Wrist-Mounted Flamethrower Lets You Pretend To Be An X-Man [DIY]

Pyro was never my favorite of the X-Men, but that doesn't mean I'm not excited about this DIY project allowing me to mimic his powers. It's called Prometheus, and it's by far one of the best wrist-mounted flamethrowers I've seen. There have been similar projects in the past, but none actually produced such a controlled flame or came with building instructions as detailed as Everett Bradford's Prometheus Device. And while I know that Pyro technically controls fire rather than actually making it, short of mutant genetics, this project is as close as we'll get. And it's damn awesome. ...

Check out this awesome hand and wrist mounted DIY flame thrower. Designed and created by Everett Bradford’s his “Prometheus Device” is fashion on the X-mens Pyro ability to create fire from thin air. Everett’s device doesn’t do it quiet from thin air but its fantastic never the less.
Using a deflection sensor in the device allows the user to control the flow of the butane and propane mix which create the flames. To ignite the gases the flame thrower uses an arc generator which send a spark across the users palm ...
Arm mounted flame thrower makes you the fire man
Gizmo Watch —
In case you want the power to shoot fire from the hand, come to the refuge of DIY-er Everett Bradford and he’ll provide you with the abilities to shoot flames out of your human arm. Everett got together a pyrotechnical invention to build what’s called the Prometheus, which is a little wrist mounted flame thrower. This flame thrower has a butane/propane tank strapped under the arm with an arc generator as the ignition source, which controlled by the micro-controlled servo ignites fire with the movement of the arm. Now, do you wish to try lighting fires with your burning hand? Video demonstration after the jump. ...

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), mutation in our genes do not result in the next Professor X or Wolverine, but will most probably end up as a medical anomaly who will require extra attention and care for a very long time. Still, that doesn't mean you can't use your perfectly functioning brain to come up with a DIY wrist mounted flamethrower in order to live out your mutant fantasies. Be careful with where you point that thing, amigo!

None of us were born with mutant powers. Unless you consider spending way too much money on Star Wars merchandise a mutant power anyway. So if we want X-men like powers we have to go the DIY route.
That’s what this dude did. He created a DIY wrist mounted flamethrower in order to live out his mutant fantasies. We’ve seen this guy before, but he has refined his creation. Somehow large breasted X-babes still elude him for some reason.
Keep trying my friend. I’m sure a villain will show up soon to fight you.

The Prometheus Device Lets You Shoot Fire From the Palm of Your Hand
GEARFUSE —
Everett Bradford created this insanely awesome “Prometheus Device” which lets you shoot fire from a hand-mounted flame thrower. The device makes you feel like a real superhero, or supervillain, for whichever purpose you decide to use your new found powers, good or evil, is up to you.
Bradford’s also done a great job documenting the building process, but of course, continue at your own discretion as this project is bound to be more dangerous than your average garage project. In other words, say your goodbye to your eyebrows now. You’ll miss them when they’re ...
