I think “whoa!” is the only response you can really have when you first see this amazing dodecahedral puzzle created by Jason Smith of PuzzleForge.com. While the original design was created by Andrew Cormier, the completed Petaminx puzzle you see above was cast and hand-assembled by Jason, who clearly has the patience of a saint. So what goes into a masterpiece like this? All-in-all there are 975 individual parts not including the 1,212 stickers that each had to be placed by hand, one at a time. Overall the Petaminx took about 75 hours to complete including the molding process, ...
Petaminx Dodecahedral Puzzle to Test Your Brainpower and Your Sanity
The UberReview —
The Petaminx is a handmade puzzle by puzzle maker Jason Smith. It has a passing resemblance to the Rubik’s cube except that it has twice as many sides and a whole lot more pieces to align. In total there are 975 parts and 1,212 stickers, but surprisingly the build-time was only 75 hours and that included the molding process and placing each of those stickers by hand.

Petaminx Dodecahedral Puzzle is a Rubik’s Cube on Crack
Coolest Gadgets —
I still have fond memories of the early 80’s, when the Rubik’s Cube was everyone’s favorite puzzle. Its success was seen by its number of imitators at the time, including the bar-shaped Missing Link and the Pyramid-shaped Pyramix. It appears that these puzzle toys have survived many incarnations since then, the most recent being the TouchCube.
Even though the fad of Rubik’s Cube and its other puzzle variations ended decades ago, the Petaminx Dodecahedral Puzzle could have been the challenge that Rubik’s Cubists could have used back in the day. Remember the “cube-offs” they had back then? These geniuses would ...

Gizmodiva.com —
If you've been a fan of the Rubik's Cube, you are certainly going to want to try your hand at the Petaminx Dodecahedral Puzzle. This puzzle makes the Rubik's Cube seem like a piece of cake. It's quite challenging with its twelve sides, which make it twice the size of the cube. The Dodecahedral puzzle has about 1,212 individual spots that are various shapes and sizes and this is a mammoth figure when compared to Rubik's Cube's 54 odd colored pieces. Andrew Cornier created this puzzle and it has been assembled by Jason Smith of PuzzleForge.com. It requires 75 long hours to complete the molding process, and there are 975 individual parts. ...
