TOMY’s New RC ‘Helicopter’ - The QFO
OhGizmo! —
By Andrew Liszewski
There’s not a lot of info on these new flying toys from TOMY, but apparently the ‘QFO’ as they’re calling it was recently shown at the 2008 Tokyo Toy Show and is the next item in the company’s ‘Q-series’ of miniature remote control vehicles. They’re designed to be flown indoors using an infra-red remote control, and while you can’t actually steer them around a room in any capacity, they can fly to a height of about 26 feet. I’ve managed to dig up a video that DigInfo shot of the QFO in action, and I think the small form factor will ...
QFO - New Flying R/C Toy from Tomy
GeekAlerts —
The Japanese toy manufacturer Tomy has announced its QFO - a small radio-controlled flying toy that was recently displayed at the 2008 Tokyo Toy Show in Japan.
There isn’t much info available about this new little gizmo, but Andrew Liszewski over at the great OhGizmo gadgets and design blog managed to find this video shot by DigInfo, showing the flying R/C “helicopter” in action and giving some info:
Four types of Tomy QFO R/C toys are scheduled to be released at the end of September. There is no ...
What's that alien flying machine? Tomy QFO sightings due later this month
DVICE Atom Feed —
Just when we were extolling the virtues of highly controllable and cheap remote controlled helicopters, along comes Tomy with a less-controllable alien craft it calls the QFO. Part of Tomy's Q series, this tiny flier give you a choice of bodies, or you can snap on a convincing-looking flying saucer shell that should scare up a dog or cat in the vicinity.
So these little critters go up, they go down, and you laugh for a while. Don’t be thinking you're going to go steering them every which way. This better be cheap. There's no pricing info forthcoming yet, but the company says you might want to look out ...
Bite-Sized Tomy QFO RC Flyers Command The Skies Of A Very Small Universe [Toys]
Gizmodo —
I like things that fly, especially when they're the size of a golf ball. Tomy's OFO RC toys are part of the Japanese Q series of all things minuscule, and are propelled by a rotor on its underside. The QFO will be available in Japan this month for about $40, but more importantly, I keep thinking of how awesome it would be if 20 of these took to the sky at once in a public space. Check out the video below. [Akihabara via Oh Gizmo via Dvice]

Takara Tomy QFO – To create real UFO sightings
Newlaunches.com —
takara_tomy_qfo_1.jpg Takara Tomy has released a brand new radio controlled helicopter known as the QFO, and from the looks of it, seems to be part of Tomy's Q series. This tiny flier gives you a choice of bodies, or you can snap on a convincing-looking flying saucer shell that should scare up a dog or cat in the vicinity. Who knows you could end up on the worlds weirdest home videos if you this device before everybody else. Measuring a mere 65mm x 65mm x 43mm, the QFO will hit retail stores at the end of September. Catch the video to watch the QFO in action with a narration from either a person who sounds like Arnie on crack or some ...
