Dell Demonstrates the Mini 10v Running Android Cupcake [NetBooks]
Gizmodo —
Warning: Dell has not announced that their 10-inch, $299 Mini 10v netbook will be optionally loaded with Google's smartphone environment Android (Cupcake). But that hasn't stopped Dell from demonstrating it working. In this clip, Doug Anson, a Dell Technology Strategist, teases us with a stagnant Android desktop before calling Cupcake a "small and snappy little operating environment." And that's it. I guess the point we're supposed to glean from this video is that Dell will be happy to take the credit for modding their own systems with the latest hyped software instead of handing all that publicity to some ...

Dell shows Mini 10v running Android 1.5
Electronista | The Macintosh News Network —
[image] Dell has quietly drawn attention to its netbook plans by demonstrating Google's Android 1.5 running on an Inspiron Mini 10v (video below). Company technology strategist Doug Anson describes the mobile OS as "small and snappy" on the Intel Atom-based portable but doesn't do more than show the operating system running on the 10v alongside another system using Ubuntu Netbook Remix. It continues to show the stock home screen and doesn't show signs of customization by Dell. Anson maintains that Dell doesn't have any "announced" products in the works running Android, though the decision to show Android running would be unusual for a company with no intentions ...

Delicious Dell Cupcake...(Android Cupcake, that is)
Crave: The gadget blog —
Care for a Dell Cupcake? We knew you would. Credit to Dell for not only listening to reader suggestions, but for doing their own video hacking. At their own labs (hey, those kinda look like ours), they demonstrate the newest Android update, "Cupcake," on a Mini 10v, being quick to ...
Video: Dell teases Android on Mini 10v
CrunchGear —
If you’re considering a Dell netbook, particularly one from the Mini 10v line, you’d be woefully remiss to assume that it can only run Windows. Dell Technology Strategist Doug Anson (his name sounds like my name but a little different!) takes us all on a 2:12 visual joyride of the Mini 10v running Ubuntu, Ubuntu Netbook Remix, and — GASP! — Android.
So will Dell offer Android as an option on future netbook lines? Who knows. It’s certainly possible, though, that much is certain. That Ubuntu Netbook Remix looks pretty nice, too. The Mini 10v line is currently offered in ...
Dell 10v Mini Notebook Running Android
GEARFUSE —
Dell is diving even deeper into the netbook market. In this video, a Dell engineer shows off the new 10v laptop running Ubuntu and the “Cupcake” version of Google’s Android OS . He calls it “snappy” and makes sure to note that Dell is not offering this as an option on any of its computers. However, it’s very possible to port it over to your 10v, so if Google’s mobile OS tickles your fancy, you better start coding. Link [ via ]
Dell Displays Cupcake-powered Mini 10v
Ubergizmo —
Dell might not offer the option of running the upcoming Cupcake version of Android on the Mini 10v netbook, but that doesn't mean something like that is not possible, as the video you see above shows the Mini 10v defying convention by ditching Windows and settling for the Linux-based operating system instead. Unfortunately for fanboys, the Texas-based computer manufacturer has no product plans for such a model, although they did comment that the Mini 10v makes for a "small and snappy little operating environment".

Dell Plays with Ubuntu Netbook Remix and Android on Netbook Video
jkOnTheRun —
It is common knowledge that many netbook enthusiasts are playing with different operating systems on their netbooks. Heck, Kevin is busy playing with the new Moblin 2.0 beta on his netbook. It is widely expected that OEMs are looking at netbooks running Android, too. A new video has surfaced that shows a Dell Mini 10v running Ubuntu Netbook Remix. This is not surprising, as Ubuntu is a capable platform for the netbook and Dell is obviously having a look at it. What is surprising in this video is that one of the Mini 10vs is running Android. Yes, the Google Android platform has been discussed for the netbook many times, but this is not just some enthusiast playing ...
